Kennel cough

A dog park recently opened in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield. This is very appealing for many, but it is important to keep your dog’s health in mind. When a dog visits places that are frequently visited by other dogs, (dog parks, grooming salons, obedience classes, kennels, town streets), he is more at risk of exposing himself to a greater amount of different viruses and parasites.

One of these viruses is Kennel cough, a highly contagious respiratory disease that causes coughing. An infected dog could have coughed a few minutes before, and the dog sniffing in the area could get infected. Vaccination against kennel cough provides a good protection against this disease.

Many parasites can also be transmitted indirectly from one dog to another, like fleas and some intestinal worms.

A dog with a complete protection can enjoy the outdoors without worries! Don’t hesitate to contact us if you need information. Whether it is for an exam, vaccination or parasite prevention, we are here to help you protect your pets!
